Senate Joint Resolution No. 438 Commending the Virginia Association of Zoning Officials.

WHEREAS, formed in 1990, the Virginia Association of Zoning Officials (VAZO) was one of the first organizations in the United States devoted to providing the highest quality training and certification requirements for all land use professionals; and
WHEREAS, VAZO has developed, through the National Assessment Institute and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, a comprehensive certification testing program for its members; and
WHEREAS, VAZO's certification testing assures that the decisions made by land use professionals working at the state and local level are made according to the standards and guidelines established in the Code of Virginia; and
WHEREAS, VAZO continues to maintain the highest standards for its members to become Certified Zoning Officers and Certified Zoning Administrators through VAZO's certification testing program; and
WHEREAS, the public health, safety, and welfare are further guaranteed through VAZO's dedication to the fair, ethical administration and enforcement of land use laws in Virginia; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly commend and officially recognize the Virginia Association of Zoning Officials and its training and certification testing programs; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Virginia Association of Zoning Officials in honor of the organization's dedication to providing the highest quality training and certification testing requirements for those engaged in the profession of zoning law administration and enforcement in the Commonwealth.
